"You are what your deepest desire is. As your desire is, so is your intention. As your intention is, so is your will. As your will is, so is your deed. As your deed is, so is your destiny." - upanishads
Choosing a Mala that helps you to set an intention can be a powerful way to connect to your hearts desire and your purpose.
"An intention is a guiding principle for how you want to be, live, and show up in the world — whether at work, in relationships, during your meditation, or in any area of your life. Ask yourself, what matters most to you? Your answer could form a powerful intention, for which you can align your thoughts and attitude for the day ahead." – Melissa Eisler
When helping my customers to choose a Mala, I ask, "Which one most resonates with you?". Most people feel drawn to one or other colour Mala, and this could likely be because of a need to connect to that aspect of their lives, be it present, forgotten or missing. The image above shows my Gemstone Chakra Mala Collection, each gemstone and colour signifies a meaning;
❤️ Root ~ support, connect, ground
🧡Sacral ~ flow, create, feel
💛Solar plexus ~ courage, confidence, transformation
💚Heart ~ love, accept, forgive
🤍Throat ~ truth, clarity, expression
💙Third eye ~ insight, vision, dream
💜Crown ~ wisdom, connection, awareness
How to Set an Intention
Your intention should be closely tied to your personal thoughts, values, and perspective on life. Intentions can be a clear, specific wish, or as simple as a one word. I say, try to keep them positive, for example, instead setting 'stop being so shy' as your intention, try instead to lead with 'have courage' or 'be courageous'.
Here are some prompts that may help you form your intention:
What would you like to create or increase in your life?
What matters most to you?
How do you feel when you are your happiest self?
What word(s) would you like to align yourself with?
What are you grateful for?
What would you like to let go of?
Who would you like to forgive in your life?
The Gemstone Mala Collection
In this collection of Malas I chose to use all semi precious gemstones. After I thread each bead onto silk thread I hand knot for added detail and also this allows a perfect space between each bead to pause for a breath or to say your mantra.
Intentions are heart-driven and evoke feeling and purpose. Setting an intention is a way to bring your heart and mind into alignment. If you’re focusing your mind on a specific intention during a meditation, you are bringing it to your focused mind, your thoughts, your heart … and in turn helping to bring it into your reality. Which mala will you choose to align with your intention?
All my malas are handmade by me using natural gemstone beads and silk threads. 5% of every sale goes to @the_hope_foundation_uk
