Malas for good
5% of every Mala bead sale goes to the charity, Hope Foundation UK. It should never hurt to be a child. The hope Foundation work to protect street and slum children in Kolkata.
My teacher Simon Low is a patron of the hope foundation and I knew early on in the birth of Venus Mala that I would need to balance my business by giving back to a cause in India. It's important to recognise that Mala beads are traditional to a culture I was not born into and I hope I honour that culture with the respect and acknowledgement it deserves. The gifts of the yoga tradition to the west are enormous, we are benefitting greatly from the wisdom of the teachings.

What are Mala beads?
Mala beads, also sometimes known as Buddhist prayer beads, are long necklace-type tools traditionally used for mantra practice and meditation. Mala in Sanskrit means garland, and interestingly bead has the origin bede which translates as prayer. Beads have long been associated with power, status symbols amulets for luck and spiritual and religious tools.
